Title: "Racist death threats don’t scare us, say Avram’s family"
Source: The Jewish Chronicle
Date of article: February 22nd 2008

Summary:
A death threat package was sent to Avram Grant, an Israeli football manager. The package contained white gun powder. A note was also found at a training ground in Cobham, Surrey. Another note was sent containing threats against Avram’s wife, Tzofit who is an Israeli TV personality. The powder that was sent is said to be harmless but investigations are still going on. There is also a protection service for Avram, his wife and two kids. The threat has not affected any of his plans and he is continuing on with his life like normal. The police and other services are handling the situation as necessary.

Reactions:
A). This article relates to the theme ‘State building, expansion and conflict because it deals with a revolt against the Jewish population. The person who has the problem with Avram Grant might be prejudice against the Jewish community who may also have a specific problem with him in general.
B). Some people do have problems with other religions just like the Ku Klux Klan is against Catholicism. There may not be a specific name for a group of people who are prejudice against Jews but there are people out there who do have views that all other religions other than their own are the wrong way to go.
C). The author of the article is Dana Gloger. She probably is an American but could be European. She may or may not be Jewish but she is definitely not anti-Jewish. She is probably an outsider on this issue.
D). The author may be a little more bias towards the family. She says that Mr. Grant’s father “also played down the incident” possibly meaning that she thinks the issue should be taken more seriously than it currently is.
E). It might be helpful to hear from someone who might be anti-Jewish or another Jewish person’s view on the threat who may have been threatened before. Hearing from an anti-Jewish person could let us know why someone would impose a threat against Avram. Hearing from another Jewish person could give us insight on if maybe Avram is taking the threat too lightly and should be more concerned on the possibility of an attack.
F). Personally, I believe any type of racial, religious or sexual prejudice is just wrong. All people are equal and no one should be threatened in my opinion, just because their religion is different than yours. The threat should be looked into a little deeper to maybe track down the person who sent these notes and packages so he or she can be put to justice.
