Israel resumes fuel shipments to Gaza
April 16, 2008

II. Summary:
After a week of no fuel shipments, Israel resumed the shipments to Gaza once again. Eight truckloads have just been shipped says Mahmoud Khuzandar, a deputy of Gaza's fuel shipments. He included that half of the fuel was for cooking oil and the other half was diesel becuase Gaza only has one power plant. Some people say that they only sent fuel for the power plant. Two Palestinean terriorsts have broken into the Nahal Oz fuel terminal and it has been shut down because they killed two Israeli's. Some officals said that the terminal would not be reopened because of the Palestinian ambush that left three soldiers dead. No one really knows why they changed their mind. Israel has been slowly decreasing the fuel shipments to the Gaza Strip to try and end rocket attacks against the western Negev. They completly stopped the shipments after the attack in Nahal Oz fuel terminal.
A) This article relates to the AP World theme of "Impact of Interaction Among and Within Major Societies" becuase Israel and the Palestineans have always shipped oil but now Israel is decreasing the amount and was cut off after recent attacks. The two countries have been interacting with each other for many years and they are gradually decreasing their interaction as more attacks break out.
B) Israel's and Palistineans have been engaged in a "war" for many years. They have fought over many things, land being the biggest. These two countries have been getting at each other for a while and by doing that the next one just hits them harder and they go into decline.
C) A Jewish man is writing this article so we know he is on the Israel side and he is an insider for this issue. We dont know if he has any say in the government to help this issue with the fuel so we dont know if he is trying to help or not.
D) Yes, there is bias in this article becuase the man who wrote it is an Israseli himself and he stands for his country and whatever is happening he takes the side of Israel. He will make Israel sound like the better person in this article because it is his country.
E) It would be helpful to have some information on what a worker at the power plant in Gaza has to say on this issue. Is this fuel worth a war? If we had some information on that, the article would be a lot easier to approach.
F) I feel that Israel and Palestinean should just end their fued and solve all their problems. Their "war" has been going on for a really long time now and they are not going to end it if each country doesnt want to compromise. If Israel does something to get back at the Palestineans, the Palestienans just get back at them double so one little problem has spewed into many bigger problems that can only lead to worse in the future.

I agree that it's been going on too long, but Palestine wants Israel to give up their land and secede as a country. It all goes back to religious ties were Israel is claimed as the "holy land" in the middle east. I don't think that Palestine will stop fighting any time soon. I also think that there is a big attack in the works for Israel, and it will either end the war, or make it worse.
