II. Summary: This article is basically about the on going struggle of Iranian nuclear weapons threat and how the UN is trying to stop it. On the positive note, the five permanent UN Security Council members were said to have “reached agreements” on several topics which is an improvement. “On the whole, the six countries agreed to continue diplomatic efforts,” meaning the struggle is still being fought.
III. Reactions:
A) This article relates to the AP World History theme of Impact of technology, economics, and demography on people and the environment. The reason for this is because technology does not only influence society in good ways, but it can also be negative. In this case, the Iranians say it is for economic purpose and no relation to weaponry, but some countries of the UN believe it is nothing but military tactic. In conclusion, the nuclear technology influences society with conflict.
B)This struggle has been going on for years, not only with Iran but also many other nations with nuclear technology. It is a result of the cold war mostly because it sparked the whole idea of nuclear weapons and technology. Some think it is only the reaction of some nations in fear of World War III, like the red scare. Over the years since before the cold war, there has been both Psychological fear along with the actual fact of genocidal weapons.
C) The writer of this article is obviously from China because it is stated in the article. There point of view is most likely an outsider’s point of view so there writing style is mostly facts.
D) The only indication of curved opinion favoring one side more then the other is the fact that the author only speaks of the further continuation of the UN’s fight toward non-nuclear technology in Iran. They certainly do not say anything about Iran being a trustworthy country, but they also don’t say that Iran is completely against the world and plotting to kill us all. The article is factual, but mostly shows that the UN is striving toward peace.
E) The point of view missing is one of Iranian voice. The reason is because their input would show some idea of what Iran uses nuclear technology for and what they plan to do with it. Whether it is for weaponry or for just technology in general, truth or lie it will still show how Iranian’s feel about the topic and maybe they are just trying to advance society.
F) My opinion is they are in fact using nuclear weapons or in the process of building them. They have not been found so there is little evidence, but obviously if they had them they would be hidden with extreme caution. The main reason for my opinion is because I think all nations no matter what belief are all filled with insecurity. To make them feel better, they create weapons to defend them self to feel secure.

I think that nuclear warfare is going to be a real problem in the future and it already is a problem now. It is to destructive and it may seem like a good idea to a country leader but they have to understand the devestation and impact of a nuclear war. And the country who launches the first bomb can expect to be returned the favor. I wish that there could be an agreement between countries all over the world to stop the use and creation of nuclear weapons.
