New Zawahiri tape suggests Al Qaeda PR shift

Experts are saying that the number 2 leader of Al-Qaeada might signal a change in the tactics of the terrorist group. These experts think this because that leader was asked many questions and he actually answered all of them. They think that they are changing their ways becuase of the dissent upon them. From the answers to the questions it can be concluded that the leaders are going to have a lot of explaining to do about why they killed so many innocent people. These tapes are thought to have signaled a change in their media operations. Their latest messages have all apeared without a video and they all are now subtitled in arabic instead of the usual english. They answered questions about killing innocents and said that no one they killed was innocent and if they were it was an accident or a necessaty that they be killed. All of what they say sounds like they are beating around the bush.


A) i think that this relates to AP theme 2 because these people have caused a lot of distruction and horrible things to happen to thier own society and other societies.
B) This is a known terrorist group that has been around for a long time and been causing horrible things for a very long time too. They only come out of hiding and reveal messages to the public every once in a while and this one seems to be most helpful and thought provoking to the experts on these kinds of issues.
C) This article is a compiling of many different articles and interviews. All authors seem to be from america or at least not from the middle east.
D) All authors are definately not a part of the group they are reporting on and all seem to be against it (for obvious reasons) so that might be a little indication for bias.
E) i think it would be jelpful to hear from someone who was affected by an act of these people since we already heard from the people themselves (in their quotes) and the people on the outside. but it would be halpful to hear from someone who is a gainst them but on the inside because of how it has affected them
F) my reaction is that any information we can get ont hese people is good so that we can try and stop them. no matter what they think, what they do is wrong and disgusting and needs to be stopped.
