II. This article is talking about the five year long war that is going on right now in Darfur. Let me give a little background into this war. Called "The Darfur Genocide" by the American government, this war. What it basically is is a military conflict, leading towards that of a civil war, between the Sudanese Army and various rebel groups. The war is sought out to be all ethical and tribal disagreements. The article talks about how the UK government is in talks with some of the rebels groups in Dafur to talk about peace as soon as possible. The UK said that it is looking for a quick and speedy end to this conflict. Activist in 30 different countries have been trying to put an end to this conflict for over five years now, and nothing seems to be working. People are meeting in the Sudanese embassy in London to talk some negations, most importantly ending the killing of innocent people. Like other activist all over the world the UK is frustrated that this is going on this long, and they want to put an end to it now.

A. This artical related ot the AP World Theme of "State building, expansion and conflict" because the whole war in Darfur is just a huge conflict between this two groups.
B. The war in Darfur started about five years ago. What is basically is is a conflict between the Sudanese Army and various rebel groups in the area. Tensions have been brewing there since the 1980's over population growth, desertification, political opportunism and regional politics. in 1984 there was a lack of rainfall which lead to a famine and eventually killed dover 95,000 people. In 2003 two rebel groups started to turn away from the government, saying that they were oppressing non-Arabs. Over time more people joined the rebel groups and it evolved into what it is today, and all out war.
C. The writer is most lilkey British, just because BBC is based in Britain. He most likely is going to glorify what his own country is doing to try to stop this war, and not focus on what others have done.
D. Since the writer is British, and the article is all about the UK, he may over-glorify what Britian is doing for that country. Something else I noticed was that he only mentions what other countries tried to do to help Darfur once in the whole article. he is mainly focasing on what the UK is doing.
E.Hearing something from someone representing the main government in Darfur would really let me grasp the situation going on down there. Something that would be really interesting to hear from is someone from a rebel group, but I'm sure that would be impossible to get.
F. I found this article very interesting the first time I read it. I really didn't know much about the conflict down there until now, and its really a very sad thing to see happening. Maybe finally the UK can stop the killing of all those innocent people and put an end to this terrible war. I know that a lot of money is being funded into this, and it would be nice to see that all of that has payed off for something.

I also find this article interesting because i was unaware of the actual war going on between the Sudanese and Rebel groups of Darfur. I was aware of the Starvation faced by this civilization and it is quickly turning into a wasteland. And to add even more conflict, this war begins. No doubt in my mind, this needs to be reformed with the help of other nations, such as ourselves.
