Name of article: Israel fears Hamas serious about blowing up Rafah border

2. Summary: This article talks about how the Israeli government fears that Hamas group will attempt to break through the border between Gaza and Egypt. Gaza is not recognized internationally as part of any country but is under the control of the Palestinian National Authority as part of the Palestinian territories. The Hamas is a Palestinian Sunni Islamist militant organization and political party that resides in Gaza. This group has already blown through the border once and raided massive amounts of food and weapons. Egypt has deployed 1000 armed troops to the border incase the Hamas try to destroy the barrier again.

3. Reactions:
A) This article supports the AP World history theme impact of interaction among and within major societies because the Hamas is a political group and they are changing and conflicting with the Egyptian and Israeli governments which could lead to more friendly diplomatic relations between Israel and Egypt and therefore they can resolve any political uncertainties that they have about each other.

B) The history behind this event is that on January 23 the Hamas broke through the border and for 12 days stole food, medicine, weapons and military supplies. The history of this event has set Egypt on high alert because there is no telling how much explosives have been taken and how much of it is already placed along the border.

C) The point of view of this article was written by Yaakov Katz and this reporter is probably an Israeli male reporter who is an outsider on this issue because he does not live in Gaza and the fact that he lives in Jerusalem which is geographically away from Gaza.
D) The author’s point of view is skewed in that he might hate the Palestinians because someone he knew might have been killed by a Palestinian so there could be hatred there.
E) To get a full understanding of this article I would like to her from a Gaza resident that is not a Hamas so that a natural voice can be heard and that the live and see what is going on behind the border fence.
F) I think this is a serious issue and that the Egyptian and Israeli governments are taking the right steps to control this issue incase it does happen. If the Hamas are allowed to break through the border again and are able to steal more supplies there could be a surge of terrorist attacks because no one knows where those weapons are going or who they are going to be sold to, which would cause more problems between all three governments. This could also start a full scale war between these governments which is bad for every nation because then the allies of these nations will fight each other which then intern will have the allies of allies fighting each other and that could cause civil wars in some countries.
