1. Even in tough times, there is much to be positive

2. Because of constant terrorist attacks in Israel, times have been hard for the people living there. There has been the terrorist attack at Mercaz HaRav, a bombing from Gaza, and the evidence of bias against Israelites coming from the Un-Human Rights Council. Also, Israel is facing what might be a nuclear Iran. On top of terrorist attacks, there is also anti-Semitism, which is the discrimination of Jewish people that is still in Israel.

Reactions

A). This article relates to the AP World theme: Impact of interaction among major societies. Because of the wars going on in Iraq, it is affecting the places around it so that the problems that Israel is facing, become international problems as well.

B) The fight between Iraq and Iran has been going on for a while now. The reason that they are fighting is because they both believe that the holy land, Jerusalem is both of theirs. Although the United States had no part in the war when it started, many believe that it is the United States job to go in Iraq and try to settle their disputes.

C). This article is written by Abraham Foxman, who is most likely an outsider on the situation. He tries to make it seem like anti-Semitism is making progress, when meanwhile it is still a major problem for Israelites today.

D). The point of views from Jewish people are missing from the article. If the voices of these people were included, then readers would better understand the issue and they would know if anti-Semitism really is improving in Israel.

E)Although I think that this article was very interesting, I do not agree with some of the things that the author wrote. The author doesn’t feel as if anti-seminism is a big problem in Israel today, when it is. This not only goes for anti-Semitism, but for other biases in the world as well. There is much discrimination of different groups whether it is religion, race or anything else that would set you apart from others. Discrimination is a huge problem that our world is facing.

I agree with your summary. I feel terible for the people who live there and are afected by the constant war. I would hat to have to look outside my window and see bombs and stuff.
