Land day is a holiday for Arab Israelis to gather and march from one city to another mourning the death of martyrs and proclaiming their want for representation in Israeli Government. These people say they are fighting against racism and fascism in there government. This Article relates to the AP world history theme of “Impact of interaction”. It relates to this theme in that the Palestinians and Israelis are interacting with each other by fighting over land and the deaths of martyrs from the past. The Palestinians believe that the Israelis are hateful and a “terrorist” state and that all their land is rightfully Palestinian. The Israelis believe the exact opposite, which is that they believe the land is theirs.
-This conflict began in 1976 with the death of several Arab Israelites during the protest of Israeli land expropriations. Several Arabs were killed in a confrontation with Israeli armies. Now it is an annual tradition for most Palestinians to mourn the Arab deaths.

-The writer of this article seems slightly more sympathetic towards the Palestinians cause by saying how civilized and peaceful the gathering was. The writer includes Palestinian people talking about how politically just their march was.
-To gain a complete under standing of the article it would be helpful if I were to hear from an Israeli police officer surveying the march. It would be helpful to hear from an Israeli Police officer to get a first hand prospective of how the marchers were acting as they marched.
- I found the article slightly one sided in that the author talks about how the Arab Israelites march is completely just and how the Israeli government does not promote equality and how un fair the Israeli government was for killing the Arab protesters without giving an Israeli, on the opposite side of the conflict, Point of view.
