II. A gunman went into a famous prep school in Jerusalem. The man entered the building and killed two people on the spot then walked up to the library and killed six more people and injuring many others. On his way out he was killed by a student, two security guards and a Police man who was passing by. The gunman was thought to have been a Palestinian or an Israeli Arab. This was the most fatal attack on civilians in two years. This act of violence did not help the on going tension between the Israelis and Palestinians.
III.
A. I think this article relates to the AP theme of the Impact of interaction among and within major societies. I think this because there has been and ongoing conflict between theses two societies for many years the interaction between them always seems to cause violence or be caused by violence.
B. Israel and Palestine have been fighting for thousands of years. The conflict between these two societies is mainly over a piece of land. The holy land. Israel thinks that the West Bank and Gaza strip as their land and so do most Palestinians. This disagreement has brought about lots of fighting and death.
C. The point of view of the article seems to be from an American. It was written in the New York Times which is an American newspaper. The author’s seem to be impartial on the subject. Some of the quotes he/she uses from people involved or affected by the shooting.
D. I don’t believe that the author’s show any bias on the subject. Some of the quotes he/she uses seem to have one sided thought on the subject. The Palestinian prime minister condemned the shooting. Other Palestinian Politian’s are questioning if it was a Palestinian. A few Israelis also had biased opinions on the event.
E. I know it is not possible because the shooter is dead, but I would have liked to hear his side of the story. I think it would have been interesting to see what his motives behind the violent act were. What were the reasons, political, religious or personal. I would have really liked to hear from him.
F. I think that this was a horrible act of violence. These two societies should stop fighting over the piece of land and just make a peace treaty or something of that matter. The fact that innocent people have to die because two governments or religious groups disagreements, makes me mad.
B. I agree with Alexis. I think that the government should make it almost impossible to immigrate illegally. These illegal immigrants are taking jobs from Americans which doesn’t annoy me that much. What really ticks me off is that they don’t pay taxes. There are lots of hard working people that earn a good living and then have to give almost half of it to the government, and some goes to help the people who can’t earn enough like illegal immigrants. Another problem is that some of them are bringing violence and illegal drugs with them to the country, which causes problems as well.
