II. Summary
The roles of women in Arabian societies are changing. Muslim women and girls are starting to branch out and become doctors, dentists, and other occupations that they were never allowed to have. Women are beginning to not let their religion affect who they are in society. They still honor all their religious practices and still wear their hijabs, yet they are pushing their rights as a women in Muslim society. Even men are beginning to forget about the previous roles of women and are accepting their new roles in society.

III. Reactions
-This article relates to the AP World History theme cultural, religious, and intellectual develepments because Muslim women used to have a very low status in Muslim societies because their religion put many restrictions on it. Now, women are pressing the freedoms their religion gives them and are making more of themselves in society, and they are allowed to do that as well.
-The history of this issue goes back to the relgion of Islam. Islam has placed many restrictions on women, preventing them from doing things such as driving, recieving an education, and even leaving their home without an escort. Now, women are allowed to do much more.
-The point of view of the article is most likely a Muslim, since it is a Muslim newspaper and the last names of the authors of the article sound Middle Eastern.
-The author's point of view is affecting the article, because if in fact the authors of the article are Muslims, they seem to be in favor of what they are writing about. This is good because it is men supporting the growing opportunities for women in a society that did not previously allow that.
-A non-Muslim's point of view could help to understand the issue as well because they are not part of the religion, so they may have a different take on the subject.
-I like this article and the issue it is about because I think Islam could use a change in the way it's followers treat their women. I don't think women should have to be treated they way they were just because they are women. They should have equal rights as men do. They can still keep to their religion, but they should be allowed to do something with their lives.
