II. On Tuesday in East Jerusalem a Rabbi was stabbed. It happened during a protest outside of the family’s house of a man who killed eight Jewish students early this month. A police spokesman said that the Rabbi was a part of the Ateret Conhanim. This is a religious group whose objective is to buy back Jewish land in the heart of Jerusalem. The attacker stabbed the Rabbi and then ran off. The Rabbi’s body guard chased down the taker but only recovered the bloody knife left behind. The attacker has not yet been captured.

A) I think this article relates to the theme of 2. Impact of interaction among and within major societies. I think this because most likely the attacker was an Palestinian. There has been a conflict going on between Israelis and Palestinians for century’s. By the interaction and warring between these two societies there has been lots of violent attacks.
B) The historical background behind this article is the conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians. They have been fighting for centuries. They have been fighting over the Holy Land. One society believes it should belong to them and the other society thinks it is theirs. This conflict ahs brought lots of violence to the area.
C) The point of view of this article is most likely a man or woman from England because the article was from BBC. So the point of view was from an outsider.
D) This article doesn’t seem to be written with any bias remarks. The author seems to be stating the facts. Even when he/she talks about the shooting of the eight Israeli students there doesn’t seem to be any bias comments.
E) A point of view that would have made the article a little more insightful and open minded, would have been information from a protestor from the crowd. It would have been helpful to see what the people around the attack thought and saw.
F) So far I have written both of my current events blogs on something to do with the Israeli Palestinian conflict. Both times the articles caught my attention. I think it is getting kind of ridiculous that every week there are reports of violence between these two societies. You would think that over these hundreds of years they could have solved there problem and made up. America dropped nuclear bombs on Japan and 60 years later were trading and doing business with them like nothing happened. These societies have had centuries, but there religious needs are to great to make a compromise about this conflict. The killing of innocent people has to go on because of it.
PART B
Replay to Sanjay’s
I agree with Sanjay views on the war in Iraq. When we didn’t find any weapons of mass destruction we should have gotten out of there. Now that were stuck in there it’s going to be hard to get out. We need to get out though, it is getting American men and women killed and I don’t like that. As for the war in Afghanistan I agree with Sanjay again. The extremist groups need to be stopped and Osama Bin Laden needs to be found and be put to justice.

I agree with Collin and his reaction of this ever-lasting fight between two societies. Every day is a new article in the paper, a new news report on t.v. about an attack between Palestine and Jerusalem. Why can't it be settled peacefully one these days? There is no need for violence because it doesn't bring communities any where it only weakens them both.
I agree with collin. It is ridiculous how long this fight has been going on for. They need to come to an end soon. The killing of innocent people isn't helping anyone. The violence should needs to stop and the people need to settle this peacefully without hurting anyone anymomre.
