II.
Thailand's former prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra returns to face his charges of corruption after 17 months of exile from Thailand.  Some people like him, some people hate him.  At his return to Manchester city, he stated that he was done with politics, and would like to focus more on football (soccer).  Thaksin states that the charges are pollitically motivated and that he can prove his innocence.
III.a) I think that this article relates to the AP world history theme, Impact of interaction among major societies, because the article is about Thailand's prime minister.  He was the head of the government in 2006.
b) I think that the United States did mind Thaksin Shinawatra as the prime minsister of Thailand, because he did not run a democratic government.
c) The author of this article is a South East Asia correspondent named Thomas Bell.
d) I think that the author of this article was not in favor of Thaksin's charges.  The author talks mainly about the people in Thailand who loved Thaksin. " They waved roses and signs reading  We Love Thaksin", he does not really talk about the people who were in favor of Thaksin's charges of corruption and his removal from political power.
e) I would like to hear from a person who is in favor of Thaksin's charges.  They might have a great reason for why he was removed from power, this article did not show that side of the story very much.
f) I think that Thaksin deserved to be removed from power because if a government leader who has a lot of power, that is even a little bit corrupt, can spell out a lot of trouble for the country.  Now that he is gone Thailand has a chance for a good democratic government.
