Name of article: French killer forced into court
2. Summary: This article talks about how a French murder is forced into court after he refused to cooperate and the article gives the background of the case. It tells that the man on trial is Mr. Michel Fourniret for the murder of seven girls and women over 16 years. His wife is also charged with complicity of murder and kidnapping. Mr. Fourniret has already confessed to the killings but still he refuses to speak unless the trial is behind closed doors. The nature of these crimes has this man accused of being among France’s worst serial killers in decades. The nature of these crimes has connected them together and the court thinks that Fourinret is down playing his wife’s role in the murders.
3. Reactions:
A) This article supports the AP World history theme of Cultural, religious, and intellectual developments. This article supports this theme because of the way this case affects the way of how police will now have to deal with situations like these and how they have to change they way they investigate kidnappings and murders.
B) There is much history considering and surrounding this is issue because the case is prosecuting a man for nine murders that occurred within the last 16 years and that this whole case is based on old murders that have turned up.
C) The point of view of this article is from probably a British man who is an outsider.
D) The author’s point of view is skewed in that he is an outsider and he sympathizes with the victims of these crimes.
E) To get a full understanding of this article I would like to here from a French man who is in the jury on this case and the judge because they are not supposed to be bias.
F) I think that this is a very delicate issue that is a horrible circumstance. This is amazing that Interpol can let this go on for so long and they did not put these murders together sooner. I think that Mr. Fourniret is lying about how he forced his wife into making him help her.

Anthony-I completely agree with what you are saying. These series of events are very scary and absurd.I also agree with the statement you made when you said you think that he is accusing his wife of something that she didnt do. I also agree with you when you said that this is crazy how all of these murders turned up without putting the pieces together sooner. I beleive the the criminal system definatley should have been able to convict this man before more innocent people were killed. Great job analyzing the important information.
