"Iraqi militia deft call to disarm"

II. This article, which does not have an author, was published on BBC on March 28th, 2008. The article is basically about how Iraq has a major chance to take control back of their own country and start monitoring and policing it without help form the United States. The prime minister, Nouri Maliki, is giving warning to the Mehdi Army to lay down there weapons and give back the part that they control, for some money. The article goes on to talk about the different parts of Iraq and who has the main control of them. The Prime Minister said that they will leave government troop in the area until they lay down their weapons and offer peace.
III.A. I think this article relates to the AP World Theme of "Impact of Interaction". Obviously these two sections of Iraq are interacting with each other, in ways like fighting, and even trying to make peace. One is trying to put an end to the war, by offering money for peace, while the other continues to fight and doesn't give up.
B. The historical background in this article is very obvious. We have been in a war for peace in Iraq for many, many years now, it it has affected everyones lives. The United States is in Iraq trying to help make it able to run on its own, without violence and with a good government. But when things like these keep happening, its hard to think that if we pull out, it won't just go back to the state it was before.
C. Oddly enough the article does not have a author listed, but it was published on BBC, which is a British based company. So he really has no bias towards either side.
D. The author's Point of View is only seen maybe once or twice throughout the whole article and only shows a little bit of bias. There are quotes form only two people, the Prime Minister and a United Kingdom army leader. They also refer to the other side as "criminals" and other words like that.
E. The only point of veiw missing would be from someone of the Mehdi Army. Its pretty hard to say that there should be a quote from them, because one would probably be impossible to obtain.
Obviously hearing from them would give us both sides of the story, even though I don't believe anything that they say can validate them.
F. After reading this I was first surprised by the fact that there are still majorily big groups of people working against America and the Iraqi government in Iraqi. I though by now those little skirmishes would just be underground things or one or two people. I didn't know we where still trying to take down major groups. But overall I think its good to see that their government almost has full control of everything in the country, and that soon maybe we will be able to drop out altogether and leave it to them.
