PART II:
This article is about an American man that was sent back to the United States on April 21 from Mount Everest, due to a Nepalese security officer finding a 'Free Tibet' banner in his bag. William Brant Holland now has a two-year ban from climbing mountains in Nepals and says that the poster was not intended to be a permanent political display. During the first ten days in May, China will be carrying the Olympic torch. Because of this, two dozen security officers will be securing the mountain base area to prevent any pro-Tibet movements. Also, the public will not be allowed past the Mount Everest base area until after May 10.

PART III:
--A. This article relates to the theme of the impact of interaction among and within major societies because iit is disscusing the problems between Tibet and China and also how outsiders are being affected.
--B. Tibet is having alot of issues with China due to their supressed freedom. They were a free country until about 1950 and that is when China took over. Since then, their rights have been weakened. Lately, the rebellions between the two have increased rapidly.
--C. Considering it is a Japanese newspaper, he is probably Japanese. That would mean that he is an outsider on the situation.
--D. There is very little indication of whether the writter favors a side or not. It is possible that he is favoring the American, but I'm not sure because it just may be too suddle.
--E. It would help to hear from the person in Nepals who sentenced this climber to his two-year ban.
--F. Well, on the positive I am glad to hear that there is some protection going on in China, but i think they are using the protection and control for the wrong reason and on the wrong people. The people in Tibet need to be protected by somebody, because China is obviously not protecting them. China is only caring about their reputation right now. I think that China needs to notice, if you want to stop the Pro-Tibet protests and save your reputation, save Tibet and fix the situation.

This is a very interesting article. It is amazing that such a conflict has been occuring for such a long time between China and Tibet. I'm amazed that so many countries oppose China's hold over Tibet and they have not been able to influence China to change this relationship. You would think with all the publicity about the Olympics and the possible boycotting of the ceremonies due to this China might back down a little bit, yet somehow they manage to follow what they believe is right despite most of the world trying to convince them otherwise.
Good article!
