II. This article is about a bootleg liquor tragedy in Bangalore, India. The liquor was bought in the southern states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. They were sold in plastic pouches from illegal shops and laced with chemicals. The laborers who bought this liquor immediately felt sick. About 20 dealers were arrested, but police said they were still unable to trace the source of the liquor sale.

III. A) This article relates to the theme, “Creation, expansion, and interaction of economic systems,” because it has to do with trade and commerce of illegal liquor.

B) In 1981, more than 300 people died from the sale of illicit liquor in Karnataka. Also in most places of rural India, poor villagers often buy cheap alcohol, also known as "country liquor", because they cannot afford alcohol sold at state-approved shops.

C) The reporter of this article is most likely from India and is probably an insider to this situation.

D) The reporter is most likely against the selling of bootleg alcohol because it is increasing India’s death toll.

E) It would be helpful to hear from the poison victims who bought the bootleg alcohol and their reaction. It would also be helpful to hear from the sellers of the alcohol to see what they were thinking when they sold the alcohol with chemicals in it.

F) I think this is a horrible act. Why would anyone want to sell liquor that is filled with chemicals and could kill someone? I can’t believe it’s been going on so long, if this was happening in the United States it would probably be stopped immediately.

I think that it is awful to kill someone from chemicals in liquor. This incident should have been taken care of and the police should do their ultimate best to trace the source, so that no other people have to suffer from this terrible action. This shouldn’t have been going on for as long as it has.
