II. Summary:
On Tuesday, May 20, 2008 President Bush had to appologize to the Prime Minister of Iraq, Nouri al-Maliki, for an incident that occured recently involving a U.S. soldier. An American sniper used the Quran as an object for target practice. Bush claims that the soldier was repremanded and pulled from Iraq. Although not a major thought, Bush claimed that the soldier will be put on trial for hate crimes. Because of what this soldier did, all soldiers have to be educated on the importance of respecting other countries religious beliefs when deployed in that country. Iraqi officials refuse to put this behind them until there is serious consequences to his actions.

III. Reactions:
a) it relates to interactions between two societies.
b) Americans have very strong feelings about the Iraqis and tend to have a disliking towards them.
c) A man is writing it who is Israeli, meaning he probably supports America, and has feelings about the war and a disliking of terrorism.
d) There is bias, because the Israeli writer probably likes America more. but in the article itself, president bush doesn't really care as much as he claims, and would possibly react differently if he was dealing with another country.
e) i didn't hear from the soldier and this could have put a spin on the article, even though there isn't much room for excuse in this situatuion.
f) i wish people would be more respectful towards other religions and nationalities, because it's been a problem since the beginning of man. i was always taught to respect my enemies and show that youre the bigger man. this soldier is obviously not intelligent and deserved to be pulled from Iraq, because if his identity leaked out to the public, then he'd be dead in no time.
