Summary:
This article is basically about the continuation of the killings in Darfur. Even after bombings were considered unacceptable, 13 people were reported killed in and attack on a school and market. Gen Martin Luther Agwai, a commander of the UN-AU force in Darfur said that “The attacks…had compounded the extent of displacement, insecurity and untold human suffering.” The attacks were witnessed during school hours and were repeated aerial attacks and possible fighting between the government and rebels. This incident makes people doubt the reliability of the Darfur Peace Agreement that was signed two years ago. Among other things, this lead to a change in rebel movements and current negotiations for peace in Africa.
Reactions:
A.) This article relates to the theme state-building, expansion and conflict because it has to do with revolts against the peace agreement that was established two years ago.
B.) Darfur has been a center of mass genocide the past few years. People are being killed left and right so the peace agreement was signed to stop this. The UN is trying to bring aid to these people but so far has not changed much.
C.) This article was written from the point of view of an outsider from the UN but the nationality and gender of the person is unknown.
D.) The author of this article really doesn’t believe in the fighting that is going. They obviously want to do whatever it will take to help the innocent people of Darfur but so far attempts haven’t helped very much. They do not approve of any of the goings on in Africa at this point and would be happy if the government was reorganized.
E.) It would be helpful to hear from someone who is a part of the Sudan government to hear their point of view on the killings. Maybe by talking to someone from the inside, we can maybe figure out why all this is still happening and hopefully a way to stop it once and for all.
F.) I agree with the author of the article. These killings should not have continued this long, let alone even begin. The people in Darfur need more aid and need to be protected against all this. Everyone in the country is suffering because of this and it needs to end, soon.

I think what is happening in Darfur is really horrible and overlooked. I mean its just as bad as the holocaust and it shows very little signs of stopping. People are being murdered every day and it seems that a resolution will never occur. And now a bombing to set them back on any progress that might have been being made. I don't quite understand why this genocide is taking place but someone has to stop it.
