2. Summary: this is a follow up article to my last one. This one talks about how the Hamas by 2010 will have missiles that will be capable of hitting cities up to 40km away. This article states that a missile from the Hamas hit a shopping mail and wounded 14 people. The alarm system that was supposed to warn the inhabitants was turned of because of the false alarms and complaints from inhabitants. Israel’s military says that the system will be kept on for the next couple of weeks. The Hamas say this attack is a response to the attacks by Israel early Wednesday that killed three Palestinian militants and a civilian in the strip. Israel also responded to the missile strike later on Wednesday to this attack with an air raid that killed two Hamas fighters.

3. Reactions:

A) This article supports the AP World history theme of impact of interaction among and within major societies because two societies the Hamas and Israel are constantly interacting and it is causing problems for both societies.

B) There is much history behind this event. Including the fact that their have been hostilities between these two factions for years. With many incidents and talks about peace that never happened.

C) The point of view of this article is probably from a British reporter whose name is not given and might live in Israel.

D) The author’s point of view is skewed in that they could be a supporter of Israel and hate the enemies of Israel or they could despise the Hamas so they would want to make them look bad.

E) To get a full understanding of this article I would like to her from a person who has access to the Israeli military files of duty because those files would show if there was such a raid on Wednesday that the Hamas claimed happen. If there are no such records then the missile attack was unprovoked and was dealt with accordingly.

F) I think that this is now going on for to long and that the Hamas have no intention of stopping. If the Hamas are not stopped there might be more fatalities and fewer injuries with every missile strike against Israel. I think that if the Hamas lied about the alleged raid then Israel had every right to attack the Hamas later that day because then the Hamas is using excuses to attack innocent people which can not be tolerated.
