8 Jews arrested for assault on Arabs

II This week 8 Jewish students attacked three Arabs. This hate crime occurred on the eve of the holocaust remembrance day. Two of the Arabs were stabbed and needed to be hospitalized. The other was badly beaten. They said this was done to send a message to the Arabs to leave Jerusalem.

A. I believe this article relates to the theme of Impact of interaction among and within major societies. I think this because of the interactions of their different cultures and the hate to each other this crime was committed.
B. They historical background of this topic is that the Israelis and Arabs haven’t been getting along for many years. It has to do with the introduction of the western world to the Arab culture. The Arabs don’t like the fact that technology moves other countries forward. They want to stay in the times of their ancestors.
C. The author is an Israeli male. He seems to be an outsider. He doesn’t include much of his own views.
D. The authors point of view doest seem very bold. He sates the facts and doesn’t sway to one side or the other.
E. It would have been helpful to hear from and eye witness to see how the events unfolded. To see if the Israelis were instigated or they just attacked.
F. I think that fighting over conflicts of culture or religion is kind of getting old. This day in age, conflicts like this could be solved easily. Injuring other because of different views on religion is wrong.
