Summary: This article is about a video that was put on the internet saying that the Hamas believe that the Jews were the cause of the Holocaust. According to the article, Prime Minister David Ben Gurion said that disabled Jewish people were a burden to society. They video was blaming the Jews for the holocaust. They were also blaming them for the Palestine Holocaust. The video said that the Jews blamed the whole situation on the Nazi so they would look like the victims.
a) This article relates to the AP World History Theme “Impact of interaction among and within major societies.” It relates to this theme because this article involves to major societies. These two societies have been fighting for so many years. They are constantly fighting over everything. This video was just another way for Palestine to fight with Israel.
b) The Holocaust was a mass murder of Jewish people by the Nazi. This took place a couple of years ago. Also, Palestine and Israel have been fighting for many years and they aren’t going to stop soon. They have been fighting over “the promise land”, which they both believe, is rightfully theirs.
c) This article was written by Haviv Retig who is most likely a resident of Israel. This person is an outsider because they were not in the Holocaust.
d) Since the person writing this article is Jewish, we have to be careful. They are most likely going to side with Israel. Since their country has been fighting with Palestine for so long, they could have exaggerated some of the facts to make they look bad.
e) To get a full understanding of the article, I would like to hear from a Palestinian resident. This would help because then I would see where they are coming from and why they think the Jews made the Holocaust up. It would also be good to hear from them to see if they did this because of the feud between Israel and Palestine.
f) I think this is absolutely ridiculous. The Jewish people wouldn’t have made this up and the Holocaust is a recorded event in history. The Jews couldn’t have blamed a whole massacre on the Nazis. Someone would have found out before this. The Jewish people were wrongfully treated and I think this is very disrespectful that someone would even try to say the Holocaust was a sympathy act.
