II. Summary
European commission has formulated steps to assist farmers by making change in the common agricultural policy. The objective is to permit farmers to meet growing demands such as climate change. Assistance will be raised to 13% by 2012 from the current 5%.
III. Reaction
· This article fits creation, expansion and interaction of economic systems because it is improvising for what they have so they are still able to have agriculture. Also, the economic system would maintain more stable with improvising then not doing anything.
· The U.S. subsidize farmers at time of record crop prices ($289 billion). 43 billion per year is being subsidized.
· The point of view on this article is that the author is an outside on this issue who is just stating the facts.
· The author only states the advantages in this policy, without mentioning any negative impacts.
· The point of view that is missing in this article is a farmer because he/she could explain the amount of assistance that they are achieving and if it is an adequate amount.
· I agree with the author because I recognize climate changes that affect crop growth. I also understand that the price of energy must be implemented. You have to plan for the worse that may happen and have appropriate means to recover.
