Summary:

A. I believe this article relates to the theme impact of interaction among and within major societies, because Myanmar government is against getting help from outside countries.
B. The historical background of this article is that it is not unusual for a country such as Myanmar to be hit by a natural disaster like a cyclone. Also that the Myanmar government is isolationist and likes to deal with problems without outside help.
C. The author is an American male, who does not give much insight on his views of this article.
D. The author's point of view is not present in this article. He does not lean his oppinion towards either side of this article.
E. It would have been helpful to hear from a Myanmar survivor of the cyclone, to see his oppinion on the isolationist government not accepting outside help.
F. I think that the Myanmar government should allow help from the U.N. in order to save a lot of the country's citizens from certain doom of starvation and disease.

I agree with Eric, Accepting much needed aid from the UN will help this country get back on its feet save lives.
I agree with Eric's feelings towards this article, in that a small asking of help can save many lives and home. It is better to be safe and the government shoudl want that for its citizens. Getting help can only benefit the situation, for there is nothing to lose.
