B. Summary- This article is about how Carbon dioxide emissions are constantly rising and is a serious threat that needs to be taken care of immediately. It is implying that there is no possibly way to cut the gas intake we have, but the only solution now it to keep it at the same level and stop the rapid increase. The biggest consumer and emitter of gas and carbon dioxide is China, not the United States. Although it will be very difficult/nearly impossible to cut the increase of gas in half by 2050--there will be many alternatives to try to resolve the issue, such as bio-fuels and renewable resources. This article tells us that cars, planes and trains will take a very long time to control, but it is possible, if the right steps are taken. There is also a plan called the “hydrogen on demand” plan where natural gases are turned into hydrogen. Avraham Aviv of the National Infrastructures says that Israel does plan to make changes--but it just wont be enough to make a significant change throughout the entire nations oil industry.
Part C: Reactions
-This article relates to the AP theme of Interactions between humans and the environment because it is showing how the entire nation around the world has extremely high rate of increasing carbon dioxide emissions into our air. It is saying how there has to be some type of alternate energy created before it is too late and nothing can be done. It also implies that Israel is going to make a change, but unfortunately, it will not be enough to change the entire direction in which this soon to be disaster is going.
-The historical background on this issue is that there has been a constant watch with the environment and how the rate of carbon dioxide going into the air has been going up rapidly, without any serious actions taken to resolve this issue.
-The person most likely writing this is an environmentalist and does not support the amount of gas that goes into our atmosphere. He most likely agrees with all of the studies and wants something to be done immediately. He is from Israel and believes that their country is making a change.
-The indication that is writer believes this is that he says that he says that “Zero emissions options are going to be important” and that “Government doesn't do anything without industry. And industry wants the government to hedge its risks, so there isn't any forward movement right now” meaning that gas brings in to much of an income to really take a full stand on the issue.
-The person that I would really like to hear from is someone from a gas station or government. I would like to hear from someone from the gas station because I would like to hear their opinion on how much carbon is going into the air. I would also like to hear from them because I would want to hear what they would say about why the world should still use gas. I would also like to hear a government leader because Ehud Zion Waldoks says that the government doesn’t really care about the issue unless it is an economical gain. I would like to see how they react to that statement and if they actually are concerned with this possibly deadly issue.
-I think that this issue needs to be treated to immediately. I think that all governments around that world are too greedy about money and need to look at the bigger picture, our future generations lives. I think that it is a great idea that alternative products are being created for gas, but it needs to be done much faster. I somewhat disagree with the author in a couple of points however. I think that if all people around the world took this issue seriously, the rate of gas can not only remain at the same level, but decrease. This is a very serious issue that needs be taken cared of immediately.

I agree with Nicole, and I think that the world needs to try and come up with better energy solutions, because otherwise, the future of our Earth, and everything that we have ever worked for, is gone. Our government needs to change the way it has dealt with the energy crisis, because right now, George W. Bush's government has continued to help the oil companies, and not the environment, mainly because one of the leading donators to political campaigns are oil companies. Changing our system is going to be a difficult process, but I think that it is extremely necessary, and long overdue.
I agree with what Nicole is saying about the issue. I think it is a very serious issue that needs to be looked at with urgency immediately. New ideas and ways of conserving energy need to be thought up. Without drastic changes the World as we know it today could be seriously and permenately harmed. The government needs to really think about what can be done to help our environment and should not be so concerned with urbanization and industrialization. Something needs to be done right away.
I definitely agree that this is a really serious issue that needs to finally be taken care of. This has been going on for a very long time, and not enough is being done to stop it. If things keep going the way they are, the environment will be destroyed.
I agree with what Nicole is saying. Energy needs to be conserved and there needs to be a new way to get this large amount of energy needed. Otherwise, the environment will be destroyed if this form of energy we are depended on. I think something should be done right away because this issue is not only impacting a few countries, but people all around the world today.
